* Receive recognition for your teaching abilities from students, colleagues, and the industry

* The CHE® is right for every level of hospitality educator:

* Novice teachers who need to build their confidence

* Seasoned professors looking for ways to revitalize their teaching

* Industry professionals serving as adjunct instructors or lecturers at a college or university

Exam Preparation Materials
CHE® candidates will receive a packet of self-study pre-workshop materials and the participant manual for the CHE® workshop. The pre-workshop materials include approximately six hours of readings and assignments that must be completed prior to attending the workshop. The participant manual includes the material that will be taught during the workshop.

The CHE® will be awarded based upon the candidate's self-study materials and assignments, participation in workshop discussions, results of the written exam.

Topics covered on the exam include:

• Understanding Adult Learning Theory
• Establishing a Positive Classroom Culture and Communication
• Effective Endings
• Content Presentation Methods
• Interactive Teaching Methods
• Classroom Evaluation

The CHE® exam is a 100-question multiple choice exam that can be taken at the conclusion of the CHE® workshop, or within two weeks after the workshop with an approved proctor. A score of 75% is required to pass.

Because individual backgrounds vary widely in the hospitality industry, applicants may pursue the Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE®) designation through one of two options. All plans require documented evidence of academic and hospitality managerial experience as well as successful completion of a comprehensive examination and video.
